Frequently Asked Questions – Zesto

Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to our FAQ! We have tried to answer the most common questions below.

The coffee

What kind of coffee is Zesto?

Specialty-grade coffee from world’s best handpicked farms, roasted in small batches in the UK. Three blends, each with its own personality, no wine-snob vocabulary required.

What are the three blends and how are they different?

Latino is your everyday cup: bright, sweet, ridiculously easy to drink. Oro is bolder and smoother, built for milk drinks, with chocolate and honeycomb notes. Rayo is the special one: single origin, Colombian, juicy and bright, grown entirely by women in Armenia, Colombia. Start with Latino if you are not sure.

Is it whole bean or ground? Can I choose?

Both. Pick whole bean, or tell us your kit (cafetiere, filter, espresso, moka) and we will grind it to match.

How fresh is it?

We roast in small batches and ship quickly, so it reaches you fresh rather than sitting in a warehouse for months. Each bag has a roast date on it.

Does it have caffeine? Do you do decaf?

All three blends are full of caffeine!

Will it work with my machine?

If you buy the whole bean and your machine has a grinder, then yes. Every blend works across brewing methods. Otherwise, tell us your grinding preference and you are sorted.

The Meistercards

What is the card in my bag?

Every bag of Zesto comes with a Meistercard: a collectible card with a small present-moment positive prophecy on it. A little nudge to slow down, think positively and enjoy the cup in front of you. Pull it, read it, brew.

Are all 50 cards different?

Yes, there are 50 unique cards to collect. You get one at random with every order.

What do I get for collecting all 50?

Complete the set and we will send you a special gift.

Can I choose which card I get, or buy them separately?

The fun is in the surprise, so cards come at random with your coffee and are not sold separately. Subscribers tend to complete the set fastest.

Brewing and storage

How should I make it?

However you like. That is the whole point. We will never lecture you on grind size.

How much coffee should I use?

A good starting point is 1 heaped tablespoon (about 7g) per cup, then adjust to taste.

How do I store it?

Keep the bag sealed, somewhere cool and dark. Not the fridge or freezer. Use it within two weeks of opening for the best flavour.

The brand

Who is behind Zesto?

Zesto is a UK brand built on a simple idea: great coffee should feel joyful, not intimidating. Check out about us for more info!

Is your coffee actually any good?

Yes, and we have the credentials to prove it. Our Chief Flavour Officer is Dale Harris, the 2017 World Barista Champion. The anti-snob attitude is a choice, not a lack of expertise.

Is Rayo really women-produced?

Yes. Rayo is grown by Luz Helena Salazar, who has farmed coffee in Armenia, Colombia for over twenty years. It is 100 percent women-produced at the farm.

Is your coffee ethically sourced?

We buy through a direct, family-run importer with real relationships at origin, so growers are paid fairly and named, not anonymous.

If something goes wrong

What if I do not like it?

We can’t change or accept the return of open coffees. Taste is personal, and we would rather you found your blend than felt stuck. So let us know if you don’t like your product, and buy your next blend with a 20% discount.

Can I return coffee?

For food-safety reasons we cannot resell opened coffee.

My order arrived damaged or wrong. What do I do?

Email us within a day after you receive your product at support@zesto.coffee with your order number and a photo, and we will replace it fast.
